Should Terminal Cancer Patients Be Notified That They Are Going to Die?

Most doctors dread the conversation with patients where they have to tell them that their treatment has not worked and their cancer is not curable. Telling a patient that they are going to die is a difficult thing for a doctor, but it is something that the patient needs to know and deserves to know. They also have the legal right to know. There are some patients that do not want to know initially if they are going to die or not. Yet, eventually they do wish to know and it is important to break the news to them in the proper way and when they are emotionally ready.
